What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian Government initiative that provides funding directly to individuals with permanent and significant disabilities. Unlike previous systems, the NDIS employs a “choice and control” model, enabling participants to select their own service providers, such as Alpha Community Care, to achieve their personal goals and live independently.

  • Supported Independent Living (SIL) – 24/7 in-home support with trained staff
  • Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) – Purpose-built accessible homes
  • Support Coordination – Help planning and managing your NDIS supports
  • Community Participation – Social activities, outings, and skill building
  • Community Nursing Care – Clinical support in your home
  • In-Home Support – Personal care, meal preparation, domestic assistance
  • Daily Living Assistance – Help with everyday tasks to live independently
  • Forensic Disability Services – Specialized behavioral support

Age: Be aged between 7 and 65 years.

Residency: Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or Special Category Visa holder.

Disability: Have a permanent and significant disability.

Agency-Managed: The NDIA pays providers directly.  

Plan-Managed: A dedicated Plan Manager handles your invoices and paperwork.
